Q: Factory alarm not turning off

asked by on

The factory alarm will not turn off.

Hi. The Grand Voyagers are known for having failing soldered connections in the instrument cluster, causing a whole host of issues to arise such as, faulty alarms, gauges not operating, and lights not functioning correctly. It may be possible to repair the connections by re-soldering them, otherwise, replacement of the instrument cluster is necessary. However, other issues may be at fault with the anti-theft system. A quick fix that can potentially solve the issue is to unhook the negative battery terminal for 30 seconds, which may reset the anti-theft system and fix the problem. If you need further assistance, I recommend you have a mechanic, like one from YourMechanic, inspect for damaged electrical components and replace any failing parts.
