Q: Estimate pull engine out of 1998 Chevy

asked by on

The motor is blown throuh a rod thourgh block need to r&r

Labor to remove and replace the motor in a box truck will vary greatly depending on access to remove the motor and the size of the motor. Also accessories on the engine will add additional time to the standard replacement time. Your vehicle’s engine may be anywhere from 20 to 25 hours labor. Additional time will be added for extremely hard engine access due to added accessories inside and outside the cab. For this type of repair, I recommend bringing in your car to a local shop to get a estimate on time and labor.

You would need to do some major modifications to vehicle to do this swap. I would not recommend do the swap. The 1991 5.0 had less horsepower than the 4.6. You would be better off replacing the 4.6 1997 with...
