Q: Engine stopped turning mid drive, still starts and shifts gears but does not respond to clutch, may be overheated

asked by on June 24, 2017

Took a 3-hour highway drive in weather significantly hotter weather than normal. Engine stopped working on the highway and a light colored smoke came from under the hood. Radiator coolant was low, filled it with water and poured a small amount of water on the engine itself, which immediately boiled off. The battery seems to be fine, but I can answer any other q's you may have. Thank you!!

My car has 174000 miles.
