Q: Engine revs up and down when in park and when driving. When I clean the throttle body, car works fine for few days

asked by on March 27, 2018

The engine revs up and down when in a park and when driving. When I cleaned the throttle body, the car works fine for few days, then it starts with the same symptoms again. Unstable revs, losing power when trying to accelerate, if I don't want a car to shut down while driving it best responds to changing gears at low RPM. Engine light comes on. It kicks while driving. I also replaced throttle body, the car worked just fine 5-6 days, and then the same problems came again. I don't know what to do, I'm thinking vacuum leak maybe, at first I thought bad throttle body, but now when I have changed it, I'm clueless. By the way I changed the battery too.

My car has 155000 miles.
My car has a manual transmission.
