Q: Engine oil leaking

asked by on December 28, 2016

Engine oil just recently started leaking and leaving spots under the car on the driveway. The car has just under 35k miles and the next oil change isn't due until 37k miles, but a message popped up that the oil was at it's minimum level and a quart needed to be added ASAP. Is it recommended to get an oil change to correct any loose fitting things causing the leak? Or is this a problem not associated with an oil change?

My car has 35000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
