Q: Transmission problem

asked by on February 27, 2017

I went to leave my friends house and I started the jeep up, went to put it in reverse and the engine light come on. Unless is was a transmission light. But it would not go into gear or anything and the light stayed on. I then turned off the engine and let it sit for a second, then restarted it and it was fine. Is my transmission going out or could it be an electrical thing? Thanks for the help.

My car has 164700 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
