Q: Transmission problem?

so we drove ~4 minutes & rpms go up,but jeep will not "go", came to a complete stop. it revs up when gas pedal pressed,but wont go, so put in park, then tried again to resume driving. same thing, revs uprpms go up, but it just "creeps"; then transmission light came on. it drove as if it was in neutral.

My car has 160000 miles.
