Q: Drain hole issue

asked by on

Water is making its way into the car after a heavy rain. It looks like a drain hole issue.

Mazda has two service bulletins concerning the soft top drains possibly clogging up leading to leaks that develop in the floorboard. The filter screens at the drain entrance may need to be cleaned and the drain tube itself may need to removed and cleaned or replaced with an updated drain.

Mazda also has two other service bulletins for possible sources for soft top leaks at the windshield area also. The vehicle may need to be water tested in specific areas of the top using a water hose to determine the source of the water intrusion and then that source where the water intrudes needs to be repaired.

You may want to contact your dealer and see if they are willing to cover either of these repairs.
