Q: Double back doors not opening

asked by on

The double back doors of my vehicle don't open. I think the lock is seized.

This can happen where the rear doors appear to be locked and will not open. The inner carpeted panel will need to be removed on the passenger barn door and the actuator rod which connects to the outer handle will have to be manually activated by hand to get the door open. Once opened the latch mechanism may either need to be replaced or possibly lubed to prevent from happening again.
