Q: Door not opening from the inside

asked by on

The driver's door will not open from the inside.

Hello, when you pull the handle to open the door, you are pulling on a cable that goes to the door latch. It’s possible that the eyelet that the cable is attached to broke, the plastic retainer broke, or the cable has popped out of its retainer. If you feel there is resistance on the handle, then there is a good chance that the latch might have been broken internally. The only repair here would be to replace the latch. To fully inspect the cable and latch, the door panel should be removed for inspection. You may need the aid of a mechanic to remove the door panel and inspect the door latch and cable.
