Q: Diesel put into gas tank
Hello, we put 17 gallons of diesel into our 25 gallon gas tank. Afterwards, we drove .4 miles and stopped. When we tried to start it again, it turned on but the gas was fluttering. We have looked up what happens when you put diesel into a gas engine and it looks like we will need to get it towed to an auto repair shop and get the fuel drained and the engine cleaned out. My question is whether any auto shop can do this? We have looked up a few auto repair shops that do fuel system cleaning, do you think if they perform this service they can assist us? Some of the auto shops that are open today are Sears Auto Services and Firestone Complete Auto Care. Both of these places perform complete auto services.
