Q: CVT problem on Maxima

asked by on July 29, 2017

Vehicle: Maxima SL 2007, 3.5 V6 Was driving on a highway and got RPMs going up 4500. At the end of the trip had a Check Engine light on. Car stopped moving.

Fixes: 1. Replaced transmission speed sensor 2. Replaced valve body assembly 3. Initialized TCM using Nissan Service note NTB08-064a

Problem: When pulling off, vehicle shudders and may throw errors 0860 (low fluid pressure) and 0740 (solenoid A), followed by Check Engine Light. If Check Engine Light turns on, no power. Have to stop and clear the error.

Situation gets worse when engine warms up.

When driving, no problem. Car drives smooth, gears are switching, acceleration is normal.

QUESTION:

Is this a CVT replacement situation ? Could this be a TCM fault ? Transmission was replaced at 78,000 miles. Vehicle has been running on a new transmission only for 38,000 miles .

Would greatly appreciate an expert advice.

My car has 116000 miles.
