Q: Could hitting a curb cause my new tire and wheel not to fit?

asked by on December 20, 2017

I slid on ice and hit a curb where my front right tire took all of the damage. I took my tire in and i had to replace the tire, wheel, and air pressure valve. When i took it back to my car to put it on it wouldn't fit, it kept hit the back of the wheel well. I was able to get the spare donut on just fine and drive just fine except for alignment issues which I know is from hitting the curb. Could the wheel not fitting be because i hit the curb or is it because the tire place gave me the wrong tire and wheel?

My car has 122000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
