What are the components of the seat belt system?

There are many functioning components to the seat belt system in your vehicle. It is important to understand how all of these components work in order to properly use the seat belts. To understand the components of the seat belt system.

  1. Belt. The belt is the extending part that fits over the lap and shoulders.

  2. Belt Cinch Tongue. The tongue is the metal end of the belt that clips into the buckle.

  3. Buckle. The buckle is the box in the seat that the tongue fits into to latch and secure.
