Q: Check engine problems

asked by on June 14, 2017

Hello mechanics. So I've been having a few problems with my car recently and needed some advice. First, the car randomly started jerking a lot and the engine even died once just while I was driving around. Next morning I go out and see that a lot of radiator fluid has leaked. I replaced the lower radiator hose and fixed the leak. Then the check engine light came on and read “P0340 camshaft position sensor A circuit Bank 1 or single sensor". I thought it might have something to do with my air intake hose having a split down the side, so I just replaced the air intake hose. After I did that, the check engine light shut off and the car ran perfectly. I got home, shut the car off, went inside for about 30 mins, then I came back out to drive it again and the check engine light was back on and running the same P0340 code. Why did it turn back on? Am I still safe to drive it? And BTW, even with the check engine light turning back on, it still runs just fine. Please help!! Thank you!

My car has 134000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
