Q: Car wont start. Is it the PCM or the Fuel Filter?

asked by on March 18, 2017

Okay, so I've had no diagnostic, and I'm not mechanic. But I'm struggling hard here. Car was running absolutely great, with maybe 1-2 "sputters" in acceleration every week. Then out of nowhere, car won't crank. I popped the hood, did some finagling with spark plugs, and such. They're all good. Engine is trying to hard to fire up, and at some points, it does but then cuts out almost instantly. I recently checked the PCM and there sits a puddle of Oil on one of the connectors. The other (2/2) is clean as a whistle. It was only AFTER I cleaned out the PCM of oil that it starts for a second then cuts out. But then I unclipped the fuel line to the engine and there is absolutely no gasoline being injected. So is it the PCM or Fuel Pump causing my car to not crank? One more thing; I've attempted at cranking while giving it gas, and I can SMELL gas. Each time. But then I unclip fuel injector line and no gas?

AC fuse keeps blowing
I would try and disconnect the A/C compressor to see if the fuse still blows (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-to-check-fuses-by-rocco-lovetere). The compressor is the only thing that gets energized in all settings except economy. If this works and the fuse does not blow, then...
