Q: Car won't start

asked by on September 08, 2017

I have a crysler 300 base model. My husband was hooking up a new stereo system to surprise me and when tightening the battery terminals the wrench accidentally touched positive terminal and sparks flew. Now when it first happened whole car was dead. We hooked jumper cables up to it and now lights turn on. It sound like it wants to start but won't fully turn over like it's not getting any gas. What could he have fried he said he checked all fuses nothing blown the fuel pump is only a month old.

My car has 100000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

My truck shakes while idling when the heat, AC and in-cab fan are on
This may be a sign of a faulty MAP sensor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/manifold-absolute-pressure-sensor-map-sensor-replacement). The Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor senses engine load and generates a signal that is proportional to the amount of vacuum in the intake manifold. The engine computer then...
Some of the time my 2013 Chevrolet Malibu will not start.
Hello. If you are getting a check engine light along with a no start, but there are no codes then you may have a computer issue or a voltage problem. I would need to know if the engine will crank...
Airbag light is on, traction control light is on, and the check engine light is on.
The best thing to do is check the check engine light (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/check-engine-light-is-on-inspection) with a scanner and see what code could be stored. This will give you a starting place for diagnostics with your vehicle since three different lights are on....
