Q: Car won't start

Hi My car won't start, I was driving it for quite a while, parked up, then when I tried to start it , it wouldn't start At first it was trying to turn over, but eventually the battery must have died and it only clicked. I tried to jump start it, and it was trying to turn over again but still wouldn't start. I pulled the battery out let it charge over night, tried it and still only turned but didn't start. Hope someone can help thanks VW Passat 06 fsi
