Q: Car won't go into gear other than Drive

My car won't go into Park or any gear other than Drive. So now I can't start it.

To determine the cause of this problem I would start by checking the shift linkages. A shift linkage being out of adjustment will cause difficulty when selecting gears. I recommend that a technician inspect both the transmission and shift linkages. Being that the vehicle will not start it may be best to have a mobile repair service such as YourMechanic come to you to diagnose your shifting and no-start issue.
