Q: Car starts shaky or won't turn over

asked by on

The car starts very shaky, and it sometimes wont turnover. The RPMs jump high when driving slow, and I hear a slight grinding/rattling noise.

Hello. If your vehicle’s engine is behaving erratically, and making noise this could be a sign of many things, but notably, it could be a sign of serious engine damage. I would recommend you stop driving the vehicle, and have the noise inspected by a professional technician, such as one from YourMechanic, to determine the exact nature of the problem.
