Q: Car overheats; P1491 engine code

asked by on

The car keeps overheating. Also, there is a P1491 engine code.

A: The code you received says it may be a prob...

The code you received says it may be a problem with the cooling fan relay or circuit. This may be the cause of the overheating. Some owners had to just replace the cooling fan relay and others had a wiring issue with the fans. I recommend you have a mechanic like one from YourMechanic inspect your vehicle’s overheating issue to find out what needs to be fixed.
