Q: Car only moving in reverse

asked by on

My car will move in reverse, but not in drive.

If the shifter is moving to D the problem may be with the transmission. If the shifter is not fully engaging into D, the problem is either the shifter assembly or a linkage issue. Make sure the transmission fluid level is proper and the quality is good. Resolve level/quality issues before condemning the transmission. If you need assistance, you can schedule a time with a qualified mechanic from YourMechanic to inspect the transmission issue.
