Q: Car engine dies while driving

asked by on

My car engine dies while driving. All dash lights and everything electrical goes out. After stopping, the vehicle will start back up and run for a while. Could this be the ignition switch?

Hi there, it is possible that the ignition switch could cause this if it was failing and turning the engine off, it could also be a fuel pump, alternator or various other issues. A qualified technician will be able to take the car on a test drive and determine why your car engine is dying while driving.
