Q: Car doesn't accelerate

asked by on May 26, 2017

I was driving when all of a sudden my gas pedal lost all power, just stopped working. I had to roll into a parking lot. My car revs in N and in P. But when I put it in drive or reverse it doesn't do anything. Doesn't rev nothing. But if I shut the car off and turn it back on, and rev it in N then put it in drive the gas pedal will "work"kinda roughly for a few mins. I had to shut my car of twice just to get home (2miles). When I pulled into the parking lot I also realized my car was ideling lower then norm. and when I put it in drive the ideling dropped and the car would shake and act like it wanted to stall. It never stalled and I have no dash lights on and for the past week or so I had a hard time starting the car, it would never start on the first try, it would start on the second try and I would have to keep reving it because my car would shake and idel rough, I would just have to push the gas pedal about 4-5 times for the shaking to stop and then it to idel fine. It drove fine

My car has 120000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

When an engine is replaced should it include a new intake boot or air intake system? Or is that separate?
