Q: Car dies

asked by on

My car starts but won't keep running.

Without a model or engine it will be hard to make an accurate diagnosis. The basics need to looked at first. Faults need to be read out of the engine computer first, as this can guide diagnosis. Fuel pressure and volume need to be checked. The induction system needs to be checked, including the idle valve if equipped as the idle valve if stuck closed will choke the engine. You may want to enlist the help of a mechanic, like one from YourMechanic, who will have access to vehicle information and the proper equipment to diagnose the stalling issue.
