Q: Car cranks but doesn't start has fuel pressure in rail

asked by on March 10, 2018

Car cranks but doesn't start. You can hear the fuel pump kick in as well as there's fuel in the fuel rail. I bought the car a few days ago from a girl and she said it just shut off on her while driving and that her husband is a mechanic and told her it was the fuel pump. But you can clearly hear the fuel pump kick in. Car has gas, good battery etc. what could be the issue

My car has 154778 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Clicking noise is much louder when accelerating. What's could that sound be?
