asked by on December 27, 2017

car will crank but then it will sputter, the RPM's will flutter around idle and then the car will die after shaking violently. if I give it gas the RPM's fall and the car dies. I try this several times and he same thing happens sometimes it wont start at all and sometimes it will run for a second or two and then die.I had the battery checked and they said it was fine. when I bought the car the owner said that the car had been sitting for around 2 years. I don't know what is causing the start up problem.

My car has 230000 miles.
