Q: Car continues to overheat after thermostat replaced

asked by on March 14, 2018

The car continues to overheat and water is running out of the car I have had the thermostat replaced I have been putting water in it because when I put in the coolant it just runs right out this was becoming very expensive so now I just put regular water in the expansion tank. It runs hot and the water runs right out when it is idle at a long holding red light. When I get it home all the water runs out and I have to put water in it again and again. Please advise!! Thanks

My car has 151000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
