Q: Can you put vortec heads on 86 350 with high top pistons

asked by on

I have a 350/355 an I was wondering if I can put, my vortec heads on the 86 block with high top pistons
My car has an automatic transmission.

Hello. The Vortec heads should bolt up to the 86 350 block, however, they will require a different manifold and engine management system. In regards to the high top pistons, I would calculate the compression ratio that should theoretically be achieved, if it is not excessively or dangerously high. I would consider it safe to use those pistons. Best of luck!
