Q: Can problems arise If my car won't crank while I give it gas?

asked by on December 01, 2017

My car would not crank. I tested the battery with a voltmeter once a day for two days. The voltmeter read between 12.35 and 12.43 each test. However, the radio, dash lights, power locks, power windows and car alarm system still worked. Can I cause damage to the car if I pump the gas pedal while the car is in this state? If so, why? If possible, please explain the type of damage.

My car has 77000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
