Q: Air conditioner problem

asked by on

I am having a problem with my air conditioner.

The diagnosis necessary will depend on the type of problem you are experiencing. If the issue is air volume, a commonly overlooked component is the cabin air filter located in the cowl just in front of the windshield. This filter, if not changed, can become clogged with dirt and prevent air from being drawn into the climate control system. If the system is not getting cold then the first thing that needs to be done is to put some gauges on the system and run an AC performance test. You may want to enlist the help of a mechanic, like one from YourMechanic, who has the equipment and certifications to accurately and safely diagnose and repair you AC system.
