Q: After changing a faulty steering column im unable to keep the truck running. Is there an inexpensive solution. Thanks.
Good Morning. I had to change out my steering column. So i found a used column that came with a key. I swapped them out but the truck would not stay running. It would start then immediately shut off. Seems to be an anti theft issue. So i tried the 10 and 30 minute key procedures with no luck. So i then replaced the lock cylinder with my original lock cylinder making it so i could utilize the original key. No luck there either. So i tried the 10 and 30 minute procedures again with no luck.
Is there a way to bypass the anti theft system? I am trying to avoid the towing and shop fee. Thanks for any info.
