Q: Acceleration inoperative gas pedal - 1992 Plymouth Acclaim

asked by on September 14, 2016

I’m having trouble with accelerating my car. When I press on the gas pedal it is useless. So I changed the fuel filter, cut off the catalytic converter and straight piped it. This didn’t help my car accelerate any better and my gas pedal is inoperative. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do to make my car run normally?

When a vehicle gets poor fuel economy, it's typically due to an electrical sensor that is faulty, such as the oxygen sensors (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/oxygen-sensor-replacement), the air fuel ratio sensor, dirty fuel injectors, or the throttle body being dirty. Driving habits can...

Today I was backing out of my driveway and my car cut off and the oil light came on
