Q: AC compressor not spinning on 2000 Suzuki Esteem

asked by on August 18, 2016

My serpentine belt broke a few days ago. I'm having 1.8l AC compressor problems. I noticed it was the air conditioning pump when I installed the new belt. The AC pulley wasn’t spinning. So I'm going to try and do this without buying a new air conditioning pump. Do you have any suggestions or ideas?

I'm not sure about the "plastic bag noise". The jerking upon deceleration could have something to do with the transmission not downshifting properly; this could be due to internal transmission mechanical problems, or a problem with the electronic transmission controls....

Hey there. The code P0750 (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/p0750-obd-ii-trouble-code-shift-solenoid-a-malfunction-by-spencer-clayton) pertains to a shift solenoid. I would clear the code and test drive the truck while monitoring the shift solenoid's values and operation. Afterwards recheck for the code, stored or pending. Perform a battery...
Popping noise at low speed turns
Hi. This is a tricky one. In my experience, I have seen lower control arms (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/control-arm-assembly-replacement) cause this problem. The lower control arms have rubber bushings in them and sometimes those rubber bushings crack or become dry rotten and causing...

What causes the truck not to go?
Hi and thanks for contacting YourMechanic. Check the throttle position sensor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/throttle-position-sensor-replacement) (TPS) for voltage and resistance. There should be a 5 volt reference voltage to the sensor with a ground. There should be a resistance on the sensor. If...
There is a lot of slack on my serpertine belt ?
It sounds like you may have either a stretched serpentine belt (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/serpentine-drive-belt-replacement) or more likely a tensioner pulley (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/drive-belt-tensioner-replacement) that may need to be adjusted to reduce the excess slack in the belt. I would suggest having a professional from...
