Q: Ac compressor in two part can I still use my Yukon 2002 without it causing any other damage to other parts

Looked under car seen front part of compressor was broken off and just hanging doesn't look like it can hit the band but jus wanted to know if I can still drive car around so long as I don't use ac or will driving it cause damage to other parts
