Q: AC clutch replace? or something else?

asked by on June 04, 2017

2006 Sub Outback 2.5 Auto AWD. Rotating the compressor wheel when AC switched on I hear a little ticking inside the compressor, at certain degrees of rotation. Rotate the compressor wheel again a little and the ticking goes away. The wheel distance (spacing) from its housing is a little skewed too, by about 1 mm on top compared to bottom. Replace compressor, or an easier fix?
