Q: 95 Chevy pickup will not start--not even a click when key turned, but will start with jumper cables.

asked by on October 28, 2017

When the ignition is turned, nothing happens. There is not even a clicking sound. Everything works well with jumper cables attached, and once they are removed, the voltage gauge reaches 12 easily and the truck runs fine on its own. The headlights are bright, and everything seems fine with the vehicle idling for fifteen minutes or so. However, after killing it, the issue is precisely the same. It will not start. There is no indication of battery life at all--not even a click. This happened all-at-once. There was no previous indication of an issue. The battery is two years old.
