Q: 2006 Mitsubishi Galant GT is sputtering when idle and will not start until hours later when shut off...it only cranks..
Car sputters when in idle i.e. when in park or stopped while in drive. When I shut it off it only cranks...About an hour or two later it starts immediately..while cranking and not starting there is a strong odor of gasoline. It responds normally when accelerator is applied while driving or in park.
