Q: 2005 Cadillac CTS 3.6L V6. Purchased one week ago and it has a whining noise around 30mph and 1500 to 2000 rpm, but then goes away

asked by on August 24, 2017

Recently purchased a 2005 Cadillac CTS 3.6L V6 and in addition to the check engine light coming on, which I already received a answer on, it is also having a whining noise when I reach 30mph aND rpm between 1500 and 2000, once it accelerates past 30mph, the noise goes away. This has just began in the week since I purchased this car and I'm curious as to what could cause it to whine at the same speed and rpms each time, then go away upon acceleration. Any thoughts would be appreciated greatly. Thanks Michael.

My car has 144000 miles.
