Q: 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee starts but then turns off! Then after a few tries it doesn’t start anymore!

asked by on February 25, 2018

Just got the car 03 Jeep and it was running fine. Last night leaving work I started the car, went to the back seat to get something, sit back down in the front and the car was off. I start the car again and put it in reverse and it just turned off again. Tried to start it again and this time it didn’t want to start. I left it for about 30 minutes till my ride got there and it started once more, drove it for about 1 minute and it just shut off again. What could it be? Never had this issue with any other car.

My car has 80000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

My car starts but it wont move when i put it in any gear
Hi There, It sounds like your car may be low on transmission fluid (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/transmission-fluid-service) or the fluid may need to be changed. As you know, automatic transmissions use pressurized hydraulic fluid to change gears. Every time a gear change is...
I was told some 4x4 jeep models are primarily front wheel drive then the rears kick in when engaged.
Hi there. To determine if your vehicle or another jeep in that manner is rear wheel drive or front wheel drive, simply look at the transmission. If the transmission is mounted horizontal, then the vehicle is front wheel drive. If...
Can i replace a california emissions fuel pump witha federal emissions fuel pump on a 06 nissan altima manual transmission
When you go to replace your fuel pump and find that there is a big difference in the 49 states part versus a California certified part you will need to use only the California certified part since some vehicle emission...
Spark plugs/Coil plugs wont spark and car will no longer start because of this.
The mention of the camshaft position code and the car's mileage make me think of a timing belt problem. If you can see the camshaft you might want to check and see if it is turning while the car...
