I recently was given the pick up from a friend it ran pretty rough I gave it new plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, replaced vacuum lines, changed oil and filter, and adjusted the idle because it was idling pretty high 2500 rpm I would guess (doesn't have a tach). Drove It 1500 miles no problem on the way back from a camping trip I was pushing it pretty hard to get home faster when I reached my exit from the freeway it died when I slowed to a stop got is started and drove home keeping throttle on it the whole time. Now it starts but dies unless you keep continuous throttle on it.
