Q: 08 altima shut off now wont turn over

asked by on November 16, 2017

2008 altima 3.5 I was driving down the street car shut off. I pulled to the side attempted to start again engine wont turn over at all. I received a jump and changed the key fob battery still nothing. I did a little reasearch a saw that these cars have a problem with a electronic steering lock which can keep it from starting and most times wont allow the car to go into accessory mode or on position, but mine does and my steering wheel is not locked i understand that can still be the problem but the signs arent pointing in that direction. On the dash i have a key symbol on the left side and on the right side it shows a car with a key inside, maybe my key lost sync? It still opens the doors trunk and allows push button to go from accessory to on but not crank. Engine light is on but when i read the codes it only comes up with a bad o2 sensor.

My car has 102354 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
