My car 06 Buick Lucerne 8 cylinder, has been giving problems starting intermittently especially when it's been running. Brought it to a private local shop he called and told me he started it until he experienced the problem. He said it's a starter problem. He said unfortunately with my car the starter is located in middle of the car under manifold and would cost little over $700. Obvious York I don't want to pay that. I went out line and found you. How can you estimate under $400? I have never used this Mechanic. He comes recommended but is he robbing me? I didn't give permission to do the work.

My car has 700000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
