Q: 04 Nissan leaking oil and clapping sound coming from passengers side
My 04 Nissan Altima is leaking oil and a clapping sound coming from passengers side, oil leak is bad and sound is worse when given gas. On Friday I added 3 quarts of oil and stick was still dry. On today I added stop leak and just over half of a five quart oil. The leaking has dropped dramatically but the clapping sound continues even when the car is idle. The car cut off when it was running I started it back up it did not come back. The clapping sound seems to be coming from the top of the engine on the passengers side. When the oil is leaking it's almost a dark Grey color instead of black.
