It was 9AM appointment at Sunday Morning, as oil change was about 2k miles overdue. I need to use my car a few hours later. He gave me on my cell at 8:53AM from my drive way. That is the 1st pleasant surprise. On time service! He said it would take 1 hour or so to change engine oil and rotate tires. Then, at the end of service, he showed me a few of pictures he took, while he worked on my car to give me an overall condition. While I was having a discussion with him for a few of potential problem areas, I liked a way he talk and is doing a business with me. He is a straight talk person. He mentioned to me this and this would not need a repair service now. However, that one needs to be done. I know my car and have been worked on my trustworthy car many years for many parts. He won't try to sell for everything, but only sell what I do need. I agreed his points. I appreciate his honesty and expertise. If I come back again to get service through this yourmechanics.com, I would choose him, definitely. Oh... He may be work only over a weekend, as he works weekday job at other places. If you need to grep him, go ahead to get a service from him for weekend, until he put more hours into weekday service call. Good job Pete!

All about Strut Assembly Replacement

The strut assembly, an essential part of your car's suspension system, is attached to the front wheels and is used to absorb road shock, providing a smooth ride. Most cars made after 1995 have shock absorbers in the rear and strut assemblies in the front suspension. Older cars may have shock absorbers at all four wheels. Faulty or damaged struts affect the ride comfort as well as the braking effectiveness. The strut assembly, located in the front or rear of the car, is basically a shock absorber with a spring coil for additional support. The front wheels have the extra weight of the engine and need extra support to absorb shock from the road. The shock absorber has a piston and a cylinder that contains a gas or liquid substance. The spring is attached to the piston. When you drive over a bump, the piston inside the cylinder moves up and down against the gas/fluid and the spring, absorbing the shock from the bump. The strut assembly takes a beating over time, especially on bumpy roads. It will eventually start leaking the gas/liquid, leaving you with an unstable or rugged ride. With worn out struts, it is possible that the tires could lose contact with the road and/or the tires will wear out prematurely.
