Answers to common Mercedes-Benz 200 questions

Q: Is it possible to take used key fob and reprogram it?
Answered by Marvin
Hi there. You could reprogram a key fob to a different vehicle as long as the key is the same for the vehicle. In this case, if the key can go into the doors and unlock them, then you would...
Q: P2173 error code related to AIR DOOR ACTUATOR?
Answered by Eduardo
Hello. The ETC (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/what-are-the-different-codes-that-can-light-up-on-my-dashboard) and ESC (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/what-does-the-electronic-stability-control-esc-warning-light-mean-by-spencer-cates) lights are likely not related to your air door actuator. The air door actuator is an AC component, and not really connected to the electronic throttle control or stability control systems. The ETC...
Q: I just put on new rotors and brakes. I was a little shocked it had shoes inside (the emergency brake!) I am not sure aobut this
Answered by Jeff
Unfortunately, the description of this job is not sufficient to diagnose properly. The emergency brake is in fact a drum assembly (which does have shoes), however this should not have anything to do with the brake job you are describing....
Q: Car is pulling like it wants to keep moving when at a stop
Answered by Marvin

Trusted by thousands of happy car owners

Yourmechanic.com is a woman's prayered answered. My stress was zero. I didn't have to drop off the car and wait for an outrageous quote from the corner mechanic. I was able to schedule and know the price immediately. I will use yourmechanic.com from now on. If you are in the Las Vegas area. I recommend requesting Scott Franklin. He goes above and beyond customer service.

Tim was great; offered advice instead of just blindly fixing. Also Tim was super friendly and very genuine. Highly recommend!

Kevin showed up ready to do his job and did just that. He showed me a couple important things on my vehicle I had overlooked and was nothing less than incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and informative. I would, without hesitation recommend him to anyone I know and would gladly use him again.
