It sounds like we may have locked up the motor. We need to put a breaker bar on the crankshaft pulley bolt and see if we can turn the motor over by hand.

It would take 2-3 minutes to see if the crankshaft turns and no parts. I would do it for free if you asked me at my shop.

Hello, turns out the engine has seized unfortunately. What is my next step? Is it worth fixing or should I just scrap it? How much will this knock off the selling price?

It depends on if you'd like to keep it. You can put a used/reman motor in it for $3,000-$6000. It won't sell for much because the motor is blown, you'll have to find someone willing to replace the motor.

You could expect $6,000-$8,000 but it would most likely be a cash deal so on the lower side. You'll have to find the right buyer because I don't believe they will finance for the repairs and the vehicle, it would just be a total lump sum which further complicates it. You're best bet is a mechanic who is willing to fix it for themselves.

They might give you a decent deal if you're willing to purchase a new vehicle. They would then auction it.
