We aren’t really sure. From what we read it was the wheel sped sensors. We replaced all 4 with OEM sensors. It didn’t fix the problem. Hill start assist,\*\*\*\*\*and traction control all shut off when in less than 50 feet and no speedometer Mechanic's Assistant: Does the sensor have a wire-wrapped magnet? If so, have you checked it with an ohmmeter? The magnet on the bearings? Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model/year of your car? 2013 Ford Escape 2.0 4wd EcoBoost Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Escape yourself? What have you tried so far? Yes. My husband is. And my son in law is a mechanic but he is in the army now and in Kuwait. So no help Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? Welcome to Just Answer I'm Chris aka Moose, I'm sorry you are having problems with your Escape. I will do my best to help you get this resolved. If I happen to be helping another or step away during our communication, please know I will follow up as soon as I am back available/online. - Has or can you use a scan tool to see which codes are stored? - While driving, is the ABS module showing all wheel speeds sensors showing the same reading?

I'm sorry. I was asleep when you answered my problemThe only code showing is an evap code that we already know about. The tires show that it is picking up all 4. Not all run at the same speed all the time.

While driving with the speedometer not working. Use the scan tool to monitor the VSS signal the PCM and ABS are seeing and the reading from the OSS sensor. Are all of them showing a vehicle speed signal present?

I will have to have my husband do thatIs he has the right scan tool

Was he able to complete the test?

No. He wasn't.

I assume the plan is now to take the vehicle to a shop that can complete the diagnostics. Possible causes re going to be damaged tone ring, ABS sensor wiring, or the ABS module based on the information you were able to get me. Horn stopped working due to headlight washers - 2011 Porsche Panamera
